There wasn't much going on in September for us. We spent most of our weekend at the beach. Soaking in the last bit of Summer sun before it got too cold to go anymore. We have now lived in CA for a year now. We have all agreed that living close to the beach has been the funnest thing so far. We haven't been to Disneyland yet or I'm sure that would also be a fun thing to add to our list.

These two are pretty funny...they can be best buddies one minute and fighting the next.

We had some bike rides to the beach. If you went straight out our back door we would only be a little over a mile from the water. It has been really fun to ride our bikes down to the beach.

Milo has become more attached to his blanket and stuffed elephant. His elephant even accompanied us to the beach. I tried to get him to leave it in the car or to put it on the chair. He insisted on carrying it around and would go and get it if I took it to the chair. I couldn't resist sharing these pictures, he is pretty cute snuggling that elephant. I think it is so cute when kids are attached to a stuffed animal.

Our First happenings of August was a visit from my Mom and a surprise visit from Mindy and Gracee. My mom did a really good job at me not finding out they were coming with her. I was very surprised and excited when I saw them at my door. Addi still talks about when they came. "Mom do you remember when Gracee and Aunt Mindy came. That was so fun, huh." While they were here we went to the Barnum and Bailey Circus at the Honda Center. Rode bikes to the beach. rode the ferry from balboa island and just enjoyed each others company. It was great. We hope they will come again soon for another adventure.

Addi turned 4 in August and was so excited to be doing so. She is quite the gal. A little sassy at time but can be so sweet. She has a sweet tooth like her mom and love treats of all kinds. Brennon will usually bring her a treat home from work pretty often, and she loves it. She is always talking and asking questions and is a pretty smart little whip. She is starting preschool in October and i'm sure that she is going to love it. She and Milo have been interacting a lot more lately and it is so fun to see. I think that she is liking that her little brother can play with her a little more. The other day It was quiet (that is usually not a good sign with Milo around) in our house so I went to there room to see what was happening. They were sitting on the bed together reading books. Addi was reading to Milo and he was sitting listening which was surprising to me. It was one of those moment where I thought I love being their mom. Back to Addi, we are sure glad she is part of our family. She sure keeps us on our toes.

Addi Requested a Hello Kitty cake this year. lucky for me it was a pretty easy one to make. It has been a fun tradition so far to make fun cakes for my kids birthdays. I have really enjoyed it.

On Addi's birthday I planned a special date just for her and I. Milo got to stay with our neighbor and away Addi and I went. We first went to a nature reserve by our house. They had a butterfly house and a picture scavenger hunt of things inside and outside the building to find and then circle the picture. Addi thought that this was so fun. We then went and got a cupcake. We had a lot of fun together. This picture was taken before we left for our adventure.

We went for a fun night away for our anniversary this year. Bren had some surprises planned. First we went boogie boarding. And then Bren had purchased a groupon for a segway tour in Huntington Beach. We had a lovely getaway. Here are some pictures from our segway tour.

Milo's Birthday

Milo Turned 1 on Saturday. I can't believe that he is already one. We celebrated with a guitar cake, (He loves his dad's guitar that is where the idea came from) new pool and a basketball hoop ( not in the pictures). He wasn't sure what we where doing when we all started singing. We love this little turkey-lurkey ( a common nickname for him).

Thing we will remember of Milo at this age-

-Loves to sit and lean against anything (i.e. the fridge, the front of the couch while laying his head on the cushion, a box, or anyone who is sitting on the floor.)

-Gets so excited when he sees his sister Addi

-LOVES to eat ( anything he can find for that matter; snails in the church flower beds, cigarette butts, and his ultimate favorite, sidewalk chalk.)

-throws a fit and flees the scene when you catch him doing or eating something that he shouldn't.

-his frequent and frightening dives off the bed.

-playing in the toilet water if the seat is not down.

-his big gappy grin.

It's time we get reacquainted

Well, when your baby, that you just had and last posted about, is now turning 4 months old its time to get reacquainted
with the blog. We have now been living in Idaho with my mom for almost 4 months and have been having a great time.
We are sure going to be sad when it is time for us to move. We found out that we are going to be moving to the Orange County area of California. We are excited, nervous, and all the other feelings that come with moving to a new, unknown place. Brennon will start his job on August 30th. We hope to find a place to rent before then but we'll see how it goes. I've thrown in a few pictures from Milo's blessing. Other then those we haven't really taken very many pictures. Poor Milo. I'm sure we will have some from Addi's birthday that is coming up in about a week.

New Arrival

Sorry that we are just now getting some photos posted. We have been busy snuggling, feeding, and the many other things that come with having a newborn. Addi wasn't quite sure that she wanted her new brother to come home, but is doing great with him. She will go and check to see if he is ok multiple times during the day. So my plan of having a VBAC ended up not happening I stayed a 1 for a few weeks and my doctor said that my cervix wasn't very favorable. He gave me until Friday the 16 to see if something would happen on its own. I continued to feel nothing so away we went for another c-section.

Christmas To The Present!

This kitchen turned into quite the project. We used a cupboard that I had when I was Addi's age and fixed it up a little. Bren the handyman built the oven and the fridge and tiled the top. It turned out awesome. I sure love having a handyman around especially one that really likes to make things. We were both really excited for her to come down Christmas morning and see it.

This was the cupboard before. It didn't look this bad when we got it. We were in the middle of taking things apart so we could refinish it when I thought to take a picture.

A Date with Dad. Brennon picked Addi up a few days before my birthday so they could go on a "date". They went to a place that you can paint your own pottery for my Birthday. Love these pictures and Bren for thinking of doing something like this. They were the best birthday presents ever. The Binky fairy can to our house after Christmas...I had been toying with the idea for a while and finally decided to take the plunge. She stared by giving away one of the two and that went pretty well. Then the next day she decided on her own that she wanted to put the other one in the bag. I'm sure the fact that the binky fairy had left her some princess shoes with the first binky had something to do with it.

We decided to put Addi in a "big girl bed" she has

done pretty good.

She looks so small sitting on that big bed.

As far has the present we are patiently waiting for our new

little guy to arrive. I'm due April 12. I had c-section with Addi

so I am going to try for a VBAC this time and so that mean that everything

has to happen on its own time. So we are defiantly "patiently" waiting.

Brennon accepted a job with Clark Construction. We are not sure yet where

we will be moving, but are excited about the new adventure that it will bring.

a little different than with Addi. We are all really excited. Brennon especially.

secretly am pulling for a girl. Brennon hopes it is a boy so will see.

Fall 2009

FALL

I love fall and all that it brings; the leaves changing colors and the cooler weather. It even has a certain smell and feeling. We went with some of our friends and picked out some pumpkins at a place down the street. Addi was really excited about going to choose a pumpkin. She talked about it for days before we really went. We didn't get around to carving our pumpkins before Halloween. They sure look cute still sitting on our doorstep though. We'll keep them there till thanksgiving.

Fall also brings Halloween, and we had a great time this year. This year, Addi was actually aware of trick-or-treating and could not wait to go. She was watching a cartoon one morning and they were talking about trick or treating. She came running up to me and asked if we where going to go trick-or-treating and get some candy. So I explained how it all worked and she go so excited. I think hearing that they would put candy in her bag made her squeal with excitement. The night finally came and she got all fancied up in her clown attire, face painted and all. She looked so cute.

This Fall also brought a new sister-in-law to our family. My youngest brother Spencer got married to Mckell on October 1 this year. I forgot my camera so I don't have any picture from the wonderful event. Fall also brings the news of a new member coming to the Brennon and Hillaree Baker family in mid April. We are really excited. If you ask Addi what it is going to be she says, "a baby bwudda" (brother:)). We'll wait and see if she is right. We find out a week from this Tuesday. The picture below isn't that great, but I thought it was appropriate for the end of our post. We were at my mom's a few months ago and Mckell was rocking baby Dax back and forth on the stair. Addi saw her rocking and grabbed her baby and started rocking her baby like Mckell. It was so cute. She going to be a great big sister.

Summer 2009

We sure had a great summer this year. Since I haven't been blogging much lately, I thought I would do one big post, now that summer is coming to an end. It will officially feel like summer is over once Bren starts school next Monday.

AUGUST
We attended the Jones reunion and had a great time. I didn't have very many pictures to show for it.
Addi also turned 2 this month. Everytime she would see a bike she would tell me that she wanted to ride one. and I would have to tell her, "i'm sorry Addi, you don't have one to ride." So of course, that was the perfect gift for her birthday. Along with a new easel and many more fun prizes. She was in heaven when brennon walked in with the bike. She was very excited this year to blow out her candles and could hardly wait.
Addi also got her first hair cut. A big thanks to Aunt Kelsie for doing a fabulous job. I was a little worried that her curls would be cut off. That was definitly not the case as you can see in the picture.

JULY
Bren and I made a quick weekend trip to Las Vegas. We left Addi with her grandparents. We had a great relaxing time. We saw the Lion King while we were there , did some shopping, and spent some time walking the strip.
My mom let Addi and I join her on her trip to visit my Brother and his family in Georgia. We had a great time. I hadn't been out since they have lived there. Addi had a great time with her cousins. We had to pack the three carseats in the back of their van so that we could all travel together. I was not very good at taking pictures. Luckily, my Mom and Ali were. We did a lot of fun things while we were there, including touring the CNN center and going to a Braves game.

MAY-JUNE
Over memorial day we went to the zoo. Bren and I hadn't been there for a long time. Addi seemed to enjoy it but I think she will like it a lot more once she is one year older. definitly hope to make it a yearly trip.

In june we attended the manti pagent with bren's family.
I had never been. We had a fun time.

Too Big!

Addi is getting TOO BIG! She is not my little baby anymore. She has officially become a toddler. She is getting so smart and will mimic anything that you say (and with pretty good pronunciation). We are loving how much this BIG girl is changing and growing up.

Her hair is getting long enough for pigtails and I'm loving it even if she only keeps them in for a few hours.

She love, loves to wear my shoes around the house. She pulls every single pair out of my closet.

She is also becoming quite the computer whiz! She love to climb up on the computer chair and play with the mouse.

Also, Addi is turning into quite a BIG helper!

Rocking Horse

Some Friends of ours were moving and didn't want to take this rocking horse
with them since their daughter is too old to use it. It didn't look this good when we got
it. Origonally, it was painted white, with hand painted flowers and a painted on mane. Of
course, my dear husband forgot to take a "before" photo again so you aren't able to see the transformation. He seems to work on these sort of projects when I'm out of town and can't remind him to take pictures before he starts working on them. So I guess you'll have to imagine in your head what it looked like before. He took it all apart then repainted and stained it. Amazing what a little paint and stain can do. He also made a padded leather seat and then together we made the mane and tail out of thick yarn. This was one of Addi's Christmas presents but since we went home for Christmas it wasn't in any of our pictures. So I thought I would post it so my family could see it. I thought that it turned out great and Addi really loves it. She can get it rocking pretty hard, even to the point that it looks like it is going to tip over. While she rocks she repeats over and over "rockie, rockie."

Over Christmas we went to a indoor pool to swim with Bren's Family. Addi hadn't gone since August. As soon as we got in she kept try to squirm out of my arms thinking that we as able to swim on her own. I'm excited to take her this summer..... we'll see how she does.

Christmas 2008

I figured a blog update would be appropriate, seeing that it has been several months since our last post. We spent the holidays with our families in Idaho. It was a really relaxing and enjoyable break for us. All of the family was in town including Kelly, Ali, and their boys. It was so fun to see them. As you'll see from the slide show we've posted, we had alot of fun. Some of the Christmas activities included sledding behind the 4-wheelers, swimming at the hot springs, playing games, eating at our favorite restaurants, getting snowed in and drifted over, and just spending time catching up with friends and family. We finished out the year by getting together with several friends from the class of '03 for a New Year's Eve party. Now we're all settled back into our regular routine...Bren's back into another full semester of work and school and I'm trying to hold down the fort and keep up with our little busy bee.

I like to do this every once in a while. It helps me to write all the fun thing that Addi is doing at certain ages. She is 14 months old and has quite the personality. She is talking up a storm. Some things are actually understood as words...while others your thinking "what did she just say?!" She knows how to say, bye-bye, daddy, mama, ball, hot, cold, wow, hat, uh-oh, no-no( we sure love that she can say this one!) and she also tries to mimic whatever you say. One of her favorite thing to say is Hello! At church last week she put her hand on the lady's shoulder in front of us and said hello like she knew what she was doing. She also likes to feed herself. Give her a fork and she'll eat anything. Walking and growing teeth are not her strong points. At this point we are sure hoping that she actually does have teeth some where in her mouth! She is a stubborn thing when it comes to walking. I'm pretty sure from all the things that she stands by and pushes that she could walk, but just won't. She follows me where ever I go and soon after I leave the room we are in I hear her crawling right after me. I would think that she gets tired going from room to room.

Happenings at the Baker Residence.

There hasn't been much happening here at the Baker household. Just the same old things, School, Work, Church and chasing Addi Ru around. I've really been trying to not watch T.V. as much. So I decided to bring out the sewing machine again and craft it up! I still haven't figured out how to be able to write under my pictures. So I'll just give you a run brief explanation on them all. I was home about a month ago and my mom and I were cleaning out the closet of my old bedroom and found these towels. I decided to take them home and try my luck at making hooded towel. and here they are after a few phone calls to my mom. And thank so my model for displaying them so nicely. next are these fun clips made from felt that I saw on a t.v. Show. My friend and I decided to attempt them. They turned out so cute and where really easy to make. Next is my fall table runner. Thanks to Grandma Coltrin who decided that I needed the quilt squares. I love how it turned out. Last but certainly not least are the apple turn over. You can't have fall without having something with apples. We were glad Trae and Melissa came to enjoy them with us, or I would probably have eaten them all. They were so good.

Addi's Birthday

Our little Addi Ru has turned one (a few weeks ago). She was very spoiled with all her presents that she received. One of her favorites is her rocking chair (thanks mom). she looks so cute rocking in it. I made her a caterpillar cake. I thought that it tur ned out pretty good.

A Handy Man

Bren is such a handy man to have a round. A few months ago I was visiting my family and he was home a alone. So he decided to refinish a dresser that we had. I was so surprised to come home to see the finished product. We painted, added new hardware, and put a new frame around the mirror. I wish I had a picture of it before it was redone, but we forgot to take one. He really likes doing these sort of project and I really like thinking up these kind of project to do. I already have a few more in mind!

Brennon didn't have to work on Friday. So we decided to go hiking. The only bad thing was we had to go at 8:00 so it wasn't to hot on our hike. He wasn't to thrilled since it was his day to sleep in. I figured he gets up at 5:00 every morning so 8:00 was sleeping in.... right? We decided to hike the Y and we had a great time.

Addi is getting so big! She is crawling now and getting in to everything. We are loving the little person she is becoming. Lately, she has started to laugh to herself when she is playing. It is so cute. We'll have to get a video of it so you all can see. Addi will be a year old in a few months and since I haven't taken her anywhere to get her pictures done, we decided to take some pictures of her ourself. Here are a few of our favorites.

Heart and Seoul

For any of you that have checked our blog in the last while hoping to see some pictures of our trip to Korea, or to even just see what has been going on with us......well today is your lucky day. Yes, I know that it has been a while and Yes, we went on our trip over a month ago. But I am now getting around to it.
Brennon and I had a great time in Korea it was so fun to see where he had lived and served for two years. I had never been to another country and that in itself was great experience. Here is a recap of some of the thing that we saw and did.
We arrived late in the evening and where both exhausted after our long plane ride. We had dinner and then went right to bed. At dinner the first night, I had my first culturally shocking experience. Dinner was a little strange, sitting on the floor and eating at a little table but the bathroom was even stranger. After using the toilet I went to flush and didn't know what to push because there were several buttons. I chose the one I thought was right but instead water came shooting out toward me and soaked my shirt. I walked out of the bathroom and Bren started laughing. He informed me that I had accidentally started up the bidet.
The next few day were spent adjusting and figuring out what things we needed to see and what things we could do with out. We met with quite a few people that Brennon knew over there and one couple let us stay at there home for the duration of our trip. That was so nice of them and it definitely saved us some money.
We saw several historical places and did lots of other interesting things. Some of our favorites included: A 10 mile long man made river running right through downtown seoul, the park on youeido island, Kyeongbokgung (a 700 year old palace), The Hwaseong (an old fortress in Suwon), A traditional village in Yongin, Jeju Island where we went to the beach, saw some beautiful waterfalls, and saw an amazing bridge. We went shopping in famous areas like Edeh, Etaewon, Namdaemun, Dongdehmun. We went to the Seoul Korea Temple and went to the top of the Seoul NamSan tower. We ate a lot of delicious traditional food and even relaxed at a cool spa where we got massages and rested.
Brennon's favorite part of the trip was eating his favorite foods and brushing up on the language. My favorite part of the trip was shopping, and visiting the ancient stone wall in suwon. Overall, I really just loved experiencing another culture.
Our favorite part of the trip was being greeted by our little Addi at the Salt Lake airport. All in all, it was a very fun and memorable trip.

Just thought I would post a few of the things that Addi is doing right now. She is sitting up, eating solid food,and loving it! (might I add).... I sometimes can't get the spoon from the bowl to her mouth fast enough. Here are a few pictures that explain it perfectly. I can't believe that she is 6 months already. She is getting the cutest little personality. I love that I get to be home with her....and who wouldn't love those chubby little checks to kiss on all day.

A Shoulder To Lean On

Everyone Needs a shoulder to lean on right? I was doing my hair and getting ready for the day while Addi was lounging on my bed. She seem to like to play on her Belly there. Lately, she has really started to like this cat that I made last year, so I gave it to her to play with. After a few minutes I looked over and found Addi resting her little head on Purr-cy ( this was what Brennon named the cat when i made it). It was too cute. So I took a picture. I added a picture of the Cat just in case any of you were wondering what it looked like, because you can't see it in the picture with her.

Happenings from the Holidays

We had a great time over the hoildays.....We started our break by going to the Voicemale concert. Ashley and I had bought tickets for Craig and Brennon for an early Christmas present. It was a lot of fun and I think that they enjoyed it. We are really going to miss you Craig and Ash.
We then headed to Idaho to spend Christmas with our Families. We spent up to Christmas Afternoon with Brennon's Family and we had a great time.....It was filled with last minute shopping, projects, parties and caroling. We opened present with Bren's Fam Christmas morning and then headed up to my house to talk to Elder Spenc. After that we went back down to have dinner with Bren's family. After Christmas Brennon went back to Provo for a few days and I stayed at my Parents'. My sister and her kids also stayed. We had a lot of fun.
For New Years Eve we got together with some friends at the Allphin home...we had treats, played the Wii and games and just talked and laughed in the New Year. New Years Day was the Jones Family Ball Bash. At the end Brennon and Matt went head to head in a Dunk contest. Well sorry if that was more details then you wanted to read about.....we just had too many fun things to note.

Winter Wonderland

We decided to take some family pictures after church. The new snow was just too beautiful to pass up. Thanks to Ashley we have some great pictures. I love the way the pictures of Brennon and Addi turned out.

Weekend Fun

Our weekend started with Bren's Flag football game on Saturday morning. It was the championship game and I'm sad to report that they lost. They all seemed to have a fun season though. Way to go Hornshwaglers (this was there team name)! After the game we loaded up and headed for Salt Lake. We had called and invited our friends the Allphins to come down. The boys went to the BYU vs. Michigan State game, While the girls visited a few shops and drove past all the really cool old houses in Salt Lake. After the game we went to temple square. The boys had met up with some of the guys that we went to high school with, so they joined us. We even took a fun picture of all the boys. It was a fun time had by all. Thanks Bill and Nic for making the trek down in the snow.

Well....we weren't very good in the picture taking department....but we managed to get a few fun pics. The first is of Trae and I on stuffing duty. Trae was a pretty good helper. He was having a great time tearing up the bread. The second picture is of Gracee (Addi's new cousin) and Addison. There sure is a size difference between these two.... We're a little concerned Addi is not getting enough to eat...what do you think? :)

Our Sweet Addi

Tonight we went to Brennon's flag football game (they won by the way). When we were putting Addi back in the car, she was fast asleep in this postion. I couldn't help but think what a sweet little gift that we were given. She will be 3 months old on Saturday.....time sure does fly.

Murder Mystery

I know that Halloween was a while ago.... But I still wanted share our Murder Mystery Dinner pictures. On Halloween we got together with some of our friend at our house. I had never done a murder mystery dinner before, so it was a fun experience. Brennon was a Judge and I was a fashion designer from France (hence the beret). We started with some chili and bake potatoes thanks to Melissa. Each person,was given a character to portray in the murder mystery along with information about the characters background and relation to the victim. We ended with some yummie dessert. It was a great time had by all.

Well, about a week ago Brennon had a bad day. So I decided to make his favorite cookies.... Peanut Butter. I decided to find a recipe on the internet to try. I found this recipe, and decided to try it....Well bren took some cookies to have on his way to school. He called me a few minutes after leaving to tell me that these peanut butter cookies were that best that he had ever had. If you are a peanut butter cookie lover. You should give this recipe a try. Let me know if you like it.

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 egg
1 1/4 cup flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

1 Cream the butter for 2 minutes. Add the sugars, cream for 2 more minutes. Mix in the peanut butter and egg. Mix together the dry ingredients - flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Stir into the sugar butter mixture.

2 Wrap dough in plastic and refrigerate at least 3 hours. ( I refrigerated for only about 2 hours and they worked out just fine.)

3 Preheat oven to 375°F. Shape dough into 1 1/4 inch balls. Place about 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten in crisscross pattern with a fork. Bake until light brown, 9 to 10 minutes. Cool on baking sheets for a minute; transfer to rack to cool completely.

Makes about 2 dozen cookies.

For chewier cookies, bake at 300°F for 15 minutes.

Well, I decided to share some pictures of my finished quilt, for Addi's room, with everyone. I would say I did pretty well for my first quilt. I finished the quilt before Addi was born, so it's a bit late. Better late then never though.

On Sunday, Bren was taking nap and Addi had fallen a sleep after her feeding. So, I layed her next to her Dad. I went in a while later to check on her, and found the two laying in the same position. What a cute duo!

Halloween Happenings...

We had too many fun Halloween and fall pictures that we wanted to share with everyone, so we decided to make a slide show. Just a short explaination of all of our pictures...
This last Thursday, Ash, Craig, Bren, Addi and I all headed to the pumpkin patch to pick our pumpkins to carve as Jack O' Lanterns. It was a great time. On Friday, we carved our pumpkins. We even had a little pumpkin for Addi. It turned out quite cute, if I do say so myself. Saturday our ward had a Halloween party. Brennon and I dressed up as a cowboy couple and Addi was a horse. Craig and Ashley dress up as the guys on Wayne's World it was so funny how much they looked like them. They ended up winning the best couple costume at the Halloween party. It was quit an eventful and fun weekend. Hope you enjoy!
